Competition Commission Inquiry Into The Acquisition Of Bass Brewers By Interbrew;amdt. Line 1:
EDM number 19A1 in 2000-01, proposed by Martyn Jones on 08/12/2000.
leave out from 'House' to end and add 'notes that the TGWU have not formally supported the acquisition of Bass Brewers by the Belgian company Interbrew, owners of Whitbread, because, whilst some employees in those two companies may benefit in the short term, 37 per cent. of the brewing industry in the United Kingdom as a whole will be controlled by one company, resulting in reduction of choice for consumers and the overall loss of brewing and distribution jobs.'.
This is a ammendment to 19.
