That this House condemns the illegal abduction and arrest of building contractor Panicos Tsiakourmas in the British Sovereign base area of Dhekelia, Cyprus on 12th December 2000; notes that Mr Tsiakourmas, who is a registered diabetic, remains held by his captors, despite protests made by the Government of Britain and the Republic of Cyprus, United Nations representatives, his family and friends, all of whom remain concerned about both his continued wrongful incarceration and deteriorating health; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to make every effort to cause the immediate release of this innocent man from custody and for them to warn the occupying forces in Northern Cyprus that such illegal actions by them will not in future be tolerated.
