Conduct Of The Honourable Member For Islwyn

EDM number 94 in 1999-00, proposed by Nigel Evans on 25/11/1999.

That this House condemns the appointment of the honourable Member for Islwyn as the Government Whip for Wales; notes that only last month the honourable Member was suspended from the House for three days after having helped to leak a Social Security Committee Report; notes that the Prime Minister should have looked further and wider among the Parliamentary Labour Party for someone who has not been indicted by the Standards and Privileges Committee for leaking a Select Committee report; further demonstrates the contempt the Prime Minister has for this House and for the people of Wales; and calls on the honourable Member for Islwyn to resign his post immediately.

This motion has been signed by a total of 9 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
