Human Genome Project

EDM number 902 in 1999-00, proposed by Brian Iddon on 27/06/2000.

That this House congratulates all those scientists and technicians who have worked so hard in 16 countries across the world, especially the group at the Sanger Centre, Cambridge, for completing their historic initial work on sequencing the Human Genome; and urges the UK Government, the Wellcome Trust and all others engaged in funding this research to continue to do so.
