Eating Disorders

That this House welcomes the Government Summit on 21st June on the pressures on young people to be thin; notes that at least 60,000 people in the United Kingdom suffer from an eating disorder; deplores the postcode lottery of treatment which means Wales, the South West of England and West Scotland have no NHS specialist provision; welcomes the Eating Disorder Association's plan of action; and urges the Government to plug the gap on service provision as well as fighting excessive social pressures.
