Threat To Essex Meals On Wheels;amdt. Line 1:

EDM number 858A1 in 1999-00, proposed by Teddy Taylor on 23/06/2000.

Leave out from 'House' to end and add 'while fully accepting the merits of the delivery of hot meals, deplores the unfair and misleading attempts of Labour honourable Members to misinterpret the action of Essex County Council which is simply undertaking a five year Best Value Review as required by Government; and believes that Labour honourable Members concerned with welfare issues would be better directed to enquire why the then Labour-controlled Council in Southend imposed sharp and savage new charges for services provided to the elderly and disabled, which have happily been cancelled by the new Conservative-controlled Council.'.

This is a ammendment to 858.

This motion has been signed by a total of 3 MPs.
