National Noise Action Day

EDM number 801 in 1999-00, proposed by Joan Ruddock on 06/06/2000.

That this House welcomes the launch earlier this year of the UK Noise Association; notes that Wednesday 7th June has been designated as National Noise Action Day; recognises the growing problem of environmental noise from a variety of sources including traffic and aircraft; draws attention to the fact that, according to official figures, 32 million people in this country are exposed to high levels of noise; and urges the Government to develop a strategy to combat this forgotten pollutant.

This motion has been signed by a total of 50 MPs.
