Protecting Young People At Work
EDM number 670 in 1999-00, proposed by Michael Clapham on 19/04/2000.
That this House is appalled to learn that in 1998-99, 21 people aged under 25 years were killed at work and 3,845 were seriously injured; and believes there is a need to make young people aware of health and safety risks in preparation for work and that this can best be done by the Department for Education and Employment embedding health and safety teaching throughout the education system to create a culture that gets the message across to young people to protect them for the future.
This motion has been signed by a total of 69 MPs.
