Ukip Candidate In The Romsey By-Election
EDM number 651 in 1999-00, proposed by Geoffrey Johnson Smith on 17/04/2000.
That this House notes with suspicion that the UKIP candidate in the Romsey by-election is actually a sitting Liberal Democrat councillor on Test Valley Borough Council; questions the legitimacy of a candidate who represents as a councillor an openly pro-federal Europe party whilst now claiming to seek the votes of those who are not; and further notes that the Liberal Democrat party has failed to eject the UKIP candidate from its Test Valley Council group.
This motion has been signed by a total of 11 MPs.
