That this House expresses concern that more than ú1.7 billion of benefits for retirement pensioners is unclaimed every year; welcomes the launch of the Government's TV and target letter campaign, aimed at getting pensioners who qualify for the minimum income guarantee to take up their entitlement; and notes the positive approach to this issue by Age Concern in Bolton and congratulates them for launching Your Rights Week commencing 7th April, which will provide information about benefits and the minimum income guarantee and urge pensioners to take up benefits that they qualify for.
