Rugby League Silk Cut Challenge Cup Semi-Finals

EDM number 542 in 1999-00, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 16/03/2000.

That this House notes with concern the fact that both Rugby League Silk Cut Challenge Cup semi-finals played on the 25th and 26th March are to be staged in Yorkshire, leaving the North West without a semi-final for the flagship event in the Rugby League calendar; believes that in the case of the Warrington Wolves versus Bradford Bulls match, to be held at Leeds Rugby League Football ground, this clearly puts Warrington supporters at a disadvantage being forced to travel beyond Bradford to Leeds; and calls on the Rugby Football League to ensure that venues are found which are convenient to both sets of supporters, and that the North West is not left without a Challenge Cup semi-final.

This motion has been signed by a total of 37 MPs.
