A3xx Super-Jumbo

EDM number 518 in 1999-00, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 13/03/2000.

That this House congratulates the Government on providing the ú530 million aid package for the Airbus A3XX Super-Jumbo aircraft; notes that the development of the aircraft will create an estimated 22,000 new jobs at BAe Systems and safeguard more than 60,000 jobs, coupled with jobs created within the supply chain; welcomes the vote of confidence the United Kingdom Government has placed in the United Kingdom aerospace industry as the United Kingdom will now maintain its lead in the civilian aero industry; and hope to see Airbus continue to challenge Boeing in the civil aviation market.

This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs.
