Barclays Bank Closures In Cleadon And East Boldon

That this House deplores the closures of Barclays Bank, Cleadon Village, and East Boldon without any consultation with users; community leaders and other sectors within these communities; expresses dismay at the lack of responsibility for the elderly, disabled and those without transport; and calls upon the Government to institute a formal consultation procedure which would examine the consequences of such closures and ensure that adequate banking services are available to meet the needs of customers within their own community.
