Closure Of Barclays Bank, Kippax

That this House condemns the decision of Barclays Bank plc to close its branch in Kippax; notes with grave concern the large number of other closures announced by Barclays; notes that Barclays have failed to carry out meaningful consultations with local customers and traders; urges Barclays to reconsider their decision for the benefit of the community; and calls on the Government to actively promote alternative banking arrangements for those towns and villages like Kippax which may be left without a bank.
