BARCLAY'S BANK CLOSURE IN EARBY
EDM number 494 in 1999-00, proposed by Gordon Prentice on 08/03/2000.
That this House is dismayed at the decision of Barclays Bank to close its branch in Earby, a town of 5,000 people; recognises that the branch appears to be well-used and is always busy; urges Barclays to listen to those who desperately want to retain the only bank left in the town; and calls on Barclays to reconsider their entire strategy which involves the wholesale closure of banks in small communities across the UK.
This motion has been signed by a total of 32 MPs.
