Eva Morris

EDM number 46 in 1999-00, proposed by William Cash on 17/11/1999.

That this House congratulates Eva Morris of Stone in the county of Staffordshire on attaining her 114th birthday and on becoming the oldest and most senior citizen of the United Kingdom; and notes that Eva Morris, who was born in November 1885, was therefore alive when, for example, Gladstone and Salisbury were successive Prime Ministers, when Charles Parnell MP and John Bright MP were still in the House and Gladstone's Irish Home Rule Bill was defeated, when the petrol engine, the motor car and motorcycle were invented, when the Eiffel Tower was built and when the first underground was constructed in London; and wishes her many birthdays to come.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
