Honourable Member For Falmouth And Camborne And The Camborne School Of Mines
EDM number 427 in 1999-00, proposed by Paul Tyler on 22/02/2000.
That this House, recognising the world wide reputation, established over many generations, of the Camborne School of Mines, is dismayed by the proposal to relocate this unique Cornish institution elsewhere; regards this unnecessary move as a devastating blow to the economic and social future of the town of Camborne, with which it has been so famously associated for its whole lifetime; regrets that the honourable Member for Falmouth and Camborne has not supported the continuation of this vital facility in this community in the interests of the whole county; and calls on everyone in Cornwall, whilst welcoming the revised proposals for a university college, to vigorously oppose this particular feature of the plan.
This motion has been signed by a total of 6 MPs.
