Rugby At Twickenham

EDM number 374 in 1999-00, proposed by James Plaskitt on 09/02/2000.

That this House is disappointed by the decision of local magistrates to end the tradition of a post-match drinking licence following matches at Twickenham; believes that the progressive departure of fans from the ground helps the flow of traffic, use of public transport and reduces the overall disturbance to the local community; notes the steps taken by the RFU to improve facilities around the ground for fans leaving; welcomes the fact that there have been no alcohol-related arrests in the grounds at Twickenham; and therefore urges the police and the local authority to work closely with the RFU to restore the licence.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
