Conduct Of Labour Party Whips
EDM number 358 in 1999-00, proposed by Norman Baker on 04/02/2000.
That this House notes with distaste that Labour Whips were on Friday morning 4th February trawling the Library to find Labour honourable Members to speak at length in the debate on the Carers and Disabled Children Bill; deplores the fact that Labour Whips were determined not to allow any time for debate on the Bill introduced by the honourable Members for Dover and Cynon Valley; and regards this behaviour as fundamentally undemocratic and significantly at variance with the commitment to animal welfare espoused in the Labour Party's election manifesto.
This motion has been signed by a total of 5 MPs.
