Human Rights In Tibet And China

EDM number 344 in 1999-00, proposed by Norman Baker on 02/02/2000.

That this House, mindful that human rights in China and Tibet have continued to deteriorate and aware that the bilateral dialogue on human rights has failed to prevent this deterioration, supports the resolution adopted by the European Parliament on 20th January and the recommendations of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee of 10th December 1998; and calls on the Government and its European Union partners, with the United States, to co-sponsor a resolution on China at the forthcoming 56th Commission for Human Rights.

This motion has been signed by a total of 60 MPs.
