Dyfed & Powys, Gwent And South Wales Constabularies

EDM number 283 in 1999-00, proposed by Jon Owen Jones on 17/01/2000.

That this House congratulates Dyfed and Powys, Gwent and South Wales constabularies, which by collaboration made a number of arrests in the second week of January including an alleged persistent young offender, following the use of new technology currently under trial developed by 2B Research and BT; recognises that the arrests took place within a short period of time due in the main to the use of PNIP, retrieving information from neighbouring forces; and calls upon the Home Secretary to consider a national application of this system.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
