OLDER PEOPLE'S ADVOCACY SERVICE
EDM number 241 in 1999-00, proposed by Roger Berry on 11/01/2000.
That this House believes that there are circumstances where older people need the support of an independent advocate to ensure that their intersts and preferences are acknowledged and addressed; calls on advocacy services to be available to all older people who are, for example, as the point of discharge from hospital, accessing care services or receiving continuing care; and commends the work of the Older People's Advocacy Alliance in pursuing these objectives.
