Cash Machine Charges

EDM number 208 in 1999-00, proposed by David Crausby on 15/12/1999.

That this House congratulates Barclays Bank on their plans to introduce an on-screen pre-notified charge display whenever a non-Barclays customer uses a Barclays cash machine; recognises that cash machines are an increasingly popular method of banking; believes that customers should be warned on screen when they are being charged and by how much; and urges the Government to consider introducing legislation that would require all banks to pre-notify customers on screen of the details of any charges incurred.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
