Deir Yassin
EDM number 166 in 1999-00, proposed by Jeremy Corbyn on 08/12/1999.
That this House remembers the 1948 massacre at the Palestinian village of Deir Yassin; acknowledges the great significance of this tragic event for Palestinians since it marked the beginning of the depopulation of over 400 Arab villages and cities and the expulsion of over 700,000 Palestinians; and therefore calls on Her Majesty's Government to make representations to the Israeli Government, to permit, as a gracious act of reconciliation and mutual recognition, the building of a memorial at the site of the massacre.
This motion has been signed by a total of 30 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
