Safe Motherhood Programme

EDM number 1154 in 1999-00, proposed by Paul Flynn on 15/11/2000.

That this House congratulates HealthProm on their Safe Motherhood Programme in Azerbaijan; notes the recent doubling of the already high mother and infant mortality rates; welcomes this practical attainable programme for reform which has been generously supported by Glaxo Wellcome; and urges other companies doing business in Azerbaijan and other new democracies to dedicate some of their profits to health and welfare programmes.

This motion has been signed by a total of 25 MPs.
