Independent Petrol Retailers

EDM number 1122 in 1999-00, proposed by Jackie Ballard on 06/11/2000.

That this House supports the struggle of small independent petrol retailers to stay in business; condemns large petrol companies for charging higher prices for the petrol they sell on the open market than the price they charge on their own forecourts; and calls for the Government to launch an investigation into this predatory pricing which is driving many small independent petrol retailers out of business and reducing services in rural areas.

This motion has been signed by a total of 64 MPs.
