European Tax On Savings

That this House offers its sincere congratulations to the Chancellor of the Exchequer on his rejection on 29th November of the proposed withholding tax; and expresses the hope that, unlike his many predecessors since 1973, he will not eventually agree to this substantial surrender of sovereignty in exchange for so-called concessions.
