House Of Commons Mash
EDM number 108 in 1999-00, proposed by Tom Brake on 29/11/1999.
That this House congratulates the Refreshment Department on consistently providing a quality range of meals and snacks and an efficient, friendly service; notes the importance to health of a balanced diet; further notes the link between high fat content foods and heart disease; is concerned that, for the same price, two ice-cream scoops of mashed potato is far less tempting than a massive portion of chips; and calls on the catering department to introduce equality of treatment for both mash and chips lovers in order to encourage a healthy diet amongst those who regularly use the catering facilities.
This motion has been signed by a total of 8 MPs.
