Patent Office

EDM number 1017 in 1999-00, proposed by Paul Flynn on 25/07/2000.

That this House applauds the splendid quality and good value of the work of the Patent Office; notes that no country in the world has a privatised Patent Office or one where core activities are outsourced; urges the Government to retain all the work presently undertaken at the Patent Office and to consider insourcing additional work to the Office that can be undertaken more efficiently and at better value there than in the private sector.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
