The Late Private Jack Ingram And The Army Boxing Championships
EDM number 994 in 1998-99, proposed by David Chidgey on 08/11/1999.
That this House records with regret the sad death of Jack Ingram, who while serving as a private in the Royal Artillery in the years between 1944 and 1949, became Army Middleweight Boxing champion Southern Command; notes with concern the loss of his champion's medal; finds it inexplicable that the Army Boxing Association is unable to identify any records of army champions from that period; and calls upon the Association to re-double its efforts in order that Jack Ingram's achievement can be recognised in respect of the wishes of his family.
