Abolition Of Qcs
EDM number 96 in 1998-99, proposed by Andrew Dismore on 08/12/1998.
That this House welcomes the White Paper, Modernising Justice and the Access to Justice Bill as the first real comprehensive plan to modernise the justice system for a century; and expresses the hope that the opportunity will also be taken to abolish the expensive and anachronistic distinction of Queen's Counsel, which has no place in a 21st century legal system.
This motion has been signed by a total of 103 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
