Legality Of British Nuclear Weapons;amdt. Line 1:

EDM number 959A1 in 1998-99, proposed by Julian Lewis on 09/11/1999.

leave out from 'welcomes' to end and add 'the interview given to The Express newspaper of 22 October 1999 by the Sheriff in the Scottish court case about the legality of British nuclear weapons and damage done to nuclear weapons-related equipment in which she explained that there had been 'a huge misunderstanding'; that she 'never said nuclear weapons were illegal'; that she may have made a wrong decision as she is not an international lawyer; that she had not ruled that Britain's Trident nuclear deterrent is illegal; and that it would have been better if this case had been heard in the High Court rather than in front of her as 'a little person doing a job'.'.

This is a ammendment to 959.
