Telecommunication Masts (No. 2)
EDM number 950 in 1998-99, proposed by David Crausby on 26/10/1999.
That this House notes with concern that the demand for telecommunications masts in all areas of the United Kingdom has increased over recent months at an alarming rate; believes that there is substantial public concern on this issue and that people living in residential areas should be protected from the visual menace and potential health hazards; calls upon the Government to review existing legislation relating to the siting of telecommunications masts, in particular the use of permitted development rights, and to consider a requirement for full planning permission for all telecommunications masts in residential areas regardless of their height.
