Visit To The UK By The President Of China
EDM number 931 in 1998-99, proposed by Teddy Taylor on 21/10/1999.
That this House welcomes President Jiang Zemin on his official visit to the United Kingdom; trusts that the visit will lead to an improvement in relations between the two countries; and expresses the hope that Her Majesty's Government will advise the President of the genuine feelings of concern in the United Kingdom about the Chinese occupation of Tibet and the denial to the people of Tibet of their right to determine their own future.
