That this House supports National School Milk Day on Wednesday 22nd September; notes that milk contains a wide range of nutrients, all essential for growing children, and can help bone growth, preventing the onset of osteoporosis in later life; urges both the Council of Ministers and the European Parliament to vote against the European commission's plans to abolish the European School Milk Subsidy Scheme; regrets the financial plight against which dairy farmers continue to struggle; and congratulates Express, ABN and other dairy companies in their efforts to provide free school milk to milk-dry schools on National School Milk Day.
