Electoral Fraud In Hackney (No. 2)

That this House notes that Special Branch is currently conducting an investigation into allegations of proxy voting fraud together with fraudulent entries on the electoral roll by Liberal Democrat and Tory activists in the May 1998 Hackney Council elections; notes that although no charges have been brought there have been 17 arrests and three Liberal Democrat councillors remain on police bail; and calls on Special Branch to root out electoral fraud by Liberal Democrats and Tories which has characterised so many elections and by-elections over the past five years.
