Alliance Against Counterfeiting And Piracy

That this House, recognising the direct cost to UK jobs and the economy of counterfeit and pirate goods, welcomes the launch today of the cross-industry Alliance Against Counterfeiting and Piracy; recognises the contribution established by the RUC that the sale of pirate goods, especially videos, has made to terrorist organisations; and therefore calls on Her Majesty's Government to ensure that the theft of intellectual property is treated no less seriously than other forms of theft.
