Kingswater/waterside Park, Audenshaw

EDM number 771 in 1998-99, proposed by Gerald Kaufman on 29/06/1999.

That this House is appalled at the decision of Tameside MBC to go for compulsory purchase orders on Denton and Fairfield golf courses in order to further North West Water plc's plans to build a business park on the land; notes that a compulsory purchase order can only mean that Arrowcroft, the developers, consider that the scheme now before the public inquiry is not viable on its own and their long-term plans are to cover all the land now used for golf courses with buildings; and now calls on North West Water to abandon all development on this site and to support the Government's plans for a renaissance of Britain's cities by ensuring that new high-tech jobs are attracted onto brownfield sites in Tameside and East Manchester.

This motion has been signed by a total of 4 MPs.
