Porthmadog Community Hospital
EDM number 740 in 1998-99, proposed by Dafydd Wigley on 21/06/1999.
That this House notes with dismay that, whereas the Welsh Office had formally approved the outline business case for a new community hospital at Porthmadog on 2nd February, the Secretary of State for Wales decided in April on a health service settlement for Wales which did not include any resources for capital developments, and therefore the Porthmadog Community Hospital project, along with other schemes did not receive a capital allocation; contrasts this catastrophic state of health service finance with the bland assertions being made by the Labour Party during the National Assembly election campaign, that significant new financial resources would be available to the health service in Wales if Labour formed the Assembly government; and calls for the immediate restoration of the health capital budget for Wales and for the go-ahead for the Porthmadog Hospital.
