Measles Vaccine And Autism

That this House notes the suggestion of a link between the meales, mumps and rubella vaccines and autism and inflammatory bowel conditions; calls upon the Secretary of State for Health to investigate the possibility of a link and undertake a full research programme to verify the safety of the meales, mumps and rubella vaccines; further calls upon him to set up and monitor a register of autistic children for such purposes; presses for further medical research into the causes of autism; and calls on the Secretary of State to publish regular figures on the number of children affected by autistic spectrum disorders and to report to the House on any action he may take if there are signs of any increases in the incidence of these cases.
