Use Of Depleted Uranium Weapons In The Balkans
EDM number 622 in 1998-99, proposed by Neil Gerrard on 10/05/1999.
That this House notes the refusal of the Secretary of State for Defence to answer questions as to whether any NATO countries other than the United Kingdom are using weapons containing depleted uranium in the current conflict in the Balkans, on the grounds that this is a matter for the countries concerned; welcomes the fact that British forces are not using such weapons but considers that this House and the public are entitled to know whether depleted uranium weapons are being used by NATO; and urges the Secretary of State to ascertain precisely what the truth is on this matter and to make a statement to the House.
