EDM number 590 in 1998-99, proposed by Simon Hughes on 28/04/1999.
That this House notes that the total government support for the year 1999-2000 for local council services supplied to the people of Adur is ú426.59 per person, ú184 per person less than those in Brighton and Hove next door; and calls on the Labour Government urgently to treat Adur residents better and in future to ensure that the funding formula of local government is changed to provide fair treatment for all English residents, including in particular the people who live in Shoreham, Lancing, Southwick and Sompting.
