Bombing Of Yugoslavian Tv And Radio Stations
EDM number 586 in 1998-99, proposed by Alice Mahon on 26/04/1999.
That this House agrees with the widespread condemnation of the bombing campaign against Yugoslavian television and radio, which inevitably killed and injured journalists and other civilian media workers; notes that NATO chose to bomb the studio rather than an unstaffed transmitter facility; accepts that Yugoslavian television and radio are government-owned and put out anti-NATO propaganda; but believes, however, that once one kills people because one doesn't like what they say and claims that civilians are 'legitimate targets', any claim to be conducting a just or moral war is false.
