Kosovo (No. 2)
EDM number 559 in 1998-99, proposed by Harry Barnes on 19/04/1999.
That this House believes that NATO's intervention in the former Yugoslavia is justified on humanitarian grounds and, in the light of Slobodan Milosevic's policy of ethnic cleansing in Kosovo, urges NATO to redouble its efforts to do all it can to avoid civilian casualties and to work incessantly for a political solution on the basis of the Rambouillet proposals; accepts that any ground force brought in to Kosovo to guarantee human rights must contain a NATO component; but also congratulates Tribune for its efforts to include Russia in such a force.
This motion has been signed by a total of 9 MPs.
