Depleted Uranium

EDM number 554 in 1998-99, proposed by Valerie Davey on 19/04/1999.

That this House welcomes the fact that depleted uranium-based ammunition has not been used by the United Kingdom forces in the present Operation Allied Force against Serb forces; and, given the persistent concern about the potential long-term radiation and chemical toxicity hazards, calls on the Government to consider urging all other NATO nations to refrain from using depleted uranium weapons.
