Conduct Of The Honourable Member For Falkirk East
EDM number 487 in 1998-99, proposed by Alex Salmond on 25/03/1999.
That this House notes with astonishment the remarks made by the honourable Member for Falkirk East at Scottish Office questions on 23rd March that local authorities in Scotland are awash with money, given the recent parliamentary Answer which shows the Government's budget for Scottish local authorities to be nearly ú750 million less than if spending had remained at levels set by the Tories in their last year in power; recalls that in opposition the present Government continually complained that Scottish local authorities were underfunded; and urges the Government to adhere to the facts before making pronouncements on funding for local authorities in Scotland.
