Bnfl And Cricklewood

EDM number 44 in 1998-99, proposed by Rudi Vis on 25/11/1998.

That this House notes with concern the intention by Direct Rail Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of British Nuclear Fuels plc, to use the operational facilities at Cricklewood in the Finchley and Golders Green constituency for the transport of spent nuclear fuel; notes with equal concern that millions of people in densely populated areas disagree with BNFL's ability to continue using railways and railway sidings for purposes for such transport; and requests the Government to instruct BNFL to circumvent densely populated areas for such transport throughout the United Kingdom.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
