Achievement In Newport Schools

That this House applauds the record achievement of 29 schools in Newport in the awards of basic skills primary quality marks; recognises the primacy these awards give to developing literacy and numeracy skills in all pupils; notes that the achievement is the best of all areas in Wales and England; and congratulates the staff and children of Alway Infant, Pentrepoeth Primary, Llanmartin Primary, Marshfield Primary, Milton Infant, Clytha Primary, St. Mary's RC Primary, Gaer Infant, Caerleon Endowed Infant, Caerleon Endowed Junior, Malpas Church Infant, Malpas Church Junior, Mount Pleasant Primary, High Cross Primary, St. Patrick's RC Primary, Malpas Park Primary, Crindau Primary, Pillgwenlly Primary, St. Julian's Infant, Duffryn Infant, Alway Junior, St. David's RC Primary, Eveswell Primary, Durham Road Infant, Durham Road Junior, Caerleon Lodge Hill Infant, Lliswerry Infant and Junior schools and Ysgol Gymraeg Casnewydd.
