Rewards To Taxi Drivers For Lost Property

EDM number 392 in 1998-99, proposed by Barry Gardiner on 04/03/1999.

That this House recognises the honesty and integrity of Metropolitan Police Licensed taxi drivers who annually return goods and cash left in their cabs to their rightful owners for little or no reward; and therefore urges the Assistant Commissioner for Police to review the scale of awards payable to drivers as a matter of urgency and to give specific consideration to introducing a flat 10 per cent. award in respect of all cash sums recovered.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
