One Man And His Dog
EDM number 345 in 1998-99, proposed by Peter Bradley on 22/02/1999.
That this House expresses its dismay at the BBC's high-handed and insensitive decision to axe the much-loved One Man and His Dog programme which, before its rescheduling enjoyed viewing figures of up to eight million per episode; recognises that the programme has provided a great deal of pleasure and enjoyment to viewers from both town and country for over 23 years and believes that this is no way to treat a loyal and faithful friend; regrets that the BBC is once again abandoning its duty to minority interests in pursuit of mass markets; and calls on the schedulers to review their decision.
This motion has been signed by a total of 71 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
